In 6th, 7th and 8th grades at Tarsus SEV, the mathematics curriculum is provided by the Ministry of Education. Through various enrichment activities outside the curriculum, students are led to a discovery of fun aspects of mathematics. Some of such activities are group contests and online games on various educational websites. Diverse instructional strategies are used to establish a student-based learning environment.
Students solve a great deal of practice questions for the most effective preparation for the SBS exam, while also developing communication and mental calculations to prepare for national and international maths contests. The mathematics terminology in English is taught in the English Mathematics classes offered in grades 4 and 5. At Tarsus SEV, students use mathematics actively while they also learn about problem solving, sharing solutions, explanations, associating mathematics with other disciplines and advanced mathematical concepts.
There is also an emphasis on interdisciplinary transition, which is based on collaborative work in several disciplines through performance tasks and projects.
