Library Lessons

Tarsus SEV librarian helps students to choose English books, short stories and non-fiction sources for reading at home or in the school. 

 

Sustained Silent Reading

This activity encourages independent reading skills. During classtime, students read a book that they have chosen. The silent reading minutes which are added up are used to award students at the end of the month.  

 

Reading Counts 

It is a program for students in grades 5 and 6. Certain books in the library are integrated into Reading Counts on a monthly basis. After finishing the book, students take an on-line quiz, the results of which are shared with both teachers and parents. 

 

English Clubs 

Interactive English Clubs provide a more comfortable setting to those students who would like to develop their English skills. 

 

ISTA (International School Theatre Association) Festivals 

ISTA organizes international drama festivals which involve students aged 9-18. The objective is to bring students from various countries around the world to prepare a drama production. 

 

English JMUN 

JMUN is the version of the Model United Nations club which is for middle school students. The main objective of JMUN is to raise global awareness about current environmental and political issues.
