The chess curriculum reflects a sports which contributes to the intellectual and emotional development of students. At the elementary school, we have chess classes in grades 1 and 2. The classes are conducted in small groups.

Chess curriculum is articulated in a progressive structure which moves from simple to complicated, easy to hard, concrete to abstract, known to the unknown, near to far. One of the reasons that it is designed this way is the very nature of chess that it requires a progression of skills from basic to more sophisticated and abstract.

One of the most important component of academic activities is assessment, which plays a vital role in reaching the learning objectives. The main goal of assessment is to demonstrate whether the system is working right, and to address the weaknesses and correct the mistakes in the process.

Assessment in chess program is conducted for various reasons, at various times and by using various tools.
