SEV Elementary and Middle School Teachers had a weekend full of training and activities at Mersin’s Liparis Hotel on the 24th and 25th of September. On the 24th of September, our teachers were informed about revitalizing of the groups and departments with concept based renewal procedures in the personal development training: Team & Department Management Organization. The concept was presented by İstanbul’s Kültür University instructor, Zafer Erkoç. The activity called ‘Genetic Lottery’ enabled our teachers to gain awareness with regard to relationships between up to date personality profiles and teaching roles. Teachers relieved their fatigue with sports and entertainment.
On the 25th of September, Eray Varol, psychological consultant at SEV American Schools Guidance Service presented a training based on parent-teacher interaction. Following this training, guidance service psychology consultants, Meltem Yamanyılmaz, Çağrı Tekeli, and Kardeniz Türkmen contributed to the reinforcement of teacher group dynamics by having teachers participate in some activities that helped them gain team awareness. Finally, the Maker Movement was introduced, and an electric car was made through the guidance of the science teacher, Gülümser Mutluoğlu. All of the teachers bid their farewells with the new knowledge and experience they had gained.
