Tarsus SEV elementary school students and teachers held a ceremony in the Stickler Auditorium in commemoration of the 104th anniversary of the Çanakkale victory. Our school principal Mrs Çiğdem Özyürekoğlu gave a speech on the meaning and importance of the day. The program followed on by an amazing shadow performance by our grade 4 students called ‘Çanakkale is Insuperable’. Stunning poems were recited, outstanding folk music was played and great performances were held by the students which left the audience feeling emotional. The performance, which was loved by everyone, reminded us that this nation wasn’t saved easily and that we owe gratitude to our ancestors.
Çannakale War has endless tales and is an important date on Turkish and World calendars. We commemorate the heroes and our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk for this victorious day.
