Raising sensitive generations to the environment, Tarsus SEV Elementary Schools took another significant step towards having a better future and leaving a greener heritage by increasing a love for trees and the soil among its students and staff. One thousand of saplings were bought from the Tarsus Directorate of Forestry with the slogan, “Here is a Breath From Us,” by Tarsus Sev Elementary School’s Technology and Innovation Department in celebration of Turkey’s “National Afforestation Day.” Saplings were distributed among students, teachers and employees of the school. In addition, a brochure, about the history and benefits of the laurel tree plus its Anatolian homeland and acceptance as the symbol of peace and immortality in mythology, was distributed with the saplings.
