Since the first week of March was ’Entrepreneurship Week’, a wonderful event was organized in Tarsus SEV Elementary School. Entrepreneurial Student Market was held at the school on Wednesday, March 5th by grade 4 students.
In the Entrepreneur Student Market, our 4th grade students first rented a stand to sell their items and then determined their products. Tarsus SEV's small entrepreneurs have a variety of products they have designed, as well as toys they don't use at home, CDs, stationery, books, homemade cookies, cakes and similar foods, homemade healthy drinks, jewelry, buckles, paintings, ceramic objects, etc. They opened booths consisting of many products and sold their products. Our 2nd and 3rd grade students visited the student market and purchased the products they wanted. In addition, administrators and teachers also contributed to the student market by shopping.
The purpose of this event was to bring out the entrepreneurial aspects of our students, to contribute to the development of entrepreneurial spirit and entrepreneurship skills, to learn how to make money by selling, to gain the ability to marketing the product at hand in order to make sales, to provide income by trading.
After the event that took place in this pleasant fair, our students donated a large portion of their income from sales to social responsibility projects. This event not only helped our students to develop what they think, entrepreneurship skills, innovative thinking, productivity, problem solving, communication, cooperation as individuals who can respond to today's and future's skills needs, but also helped them to lay the foundations of a strong self-confidence.
