The project, held at all class levels from kindergarten through 4th grade, started with our students voting on whether or not they wanted to watch “Polar Express” among other winter themed movies in order to learn the concept of democracy.

Our students, who watched Polar Express in their classes, completed activities associated with the movie in many different lessons. They decorated boards with beautiful visuals while furthering their learning with home assignments. Kindergarten students learned about the winter season, grade 1 about arctic animals, grade 2 about polar life, grade 3 about global warming, and grade 4 about trains.

The pictures painted for the global warming themed art contest within the scope of eco-school, were highly appreciated.

Our students wished that the New Year would bring good days to the whole world while enjoying the winter season with hot chocolate and cookies. It was all accompanied by a pajama party held at the end of this beautiful project.
